Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I take lopressor 100 1 qd and hctz 25 mg for high blood pressure. Now I have been prescribe the generic for cowards 50 mg for diabetes type 11 . My blood pressure usually is 130/79.. This medicine was prescribe due to sugar spiking due to stress and I just found out borderline low thyroid. I am concern that this could really drop my blood pressure extreme low. Could this interact too much with other blood pressure meds? thanks for the advice
The meds you are taking to lower blood pressure (lopressor and hctz) are showing effecting in reducing your blood pressure (bp). Discuss with your doctor to change the actual dose.
Diabetes when well controlled, might also cause drops in blood sugar level.
I advise to keep monitoring your bp and sugar levels, record the results to pass to your doctor as might need to change therapy.
All the best.
