Last peeriod 25/05/16.un protect sex has been done on fertility time.my avg period cycle about 38-40days.60 days left but i have no period.. At 58th days,i have take hcg pregnancy test but result is negative. I went to the doctor and doctor prescribed me meprate tab. What is the matter?
Hello dear Understand your concern Most common cause of delayed period in absence of pregnancy is hormonal imbalance. So period can be induced by progesterone tablet (meprate). It help in promoting the growth of endometrium and when you stop the tablet, withdrawal bleeding will occur. Other below causes of delayed period should be rule out by consulting the gynecologist: Ovarian cyct/PCOS, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, thyroid disorder. You have to go for following investigations: Reproductive and thyroid hormone analysis, USG scan and ovarian follicle study. Hope this may help you
