Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, i am a 23 year old masters student, male, 170cm height at 64kg weight. I have had an endoscopy which determined a weak sphincter and have been using omeprazole for just over 1.5 years now. I have reached a point where my appetite is next to none, and consume on average aroung 50% of what others of a similar age and weight consume. This lack of food consumption i assume is responsible for my high level of fatigue and lack of energy. To put this into perspective; waking up at 10am and having a biscuit with tea (all i can manage in the morning ) and then commencing an 11-6 day of university classes leaves me so tired that i will sleep by 9 on average and have 13h sleep. Is omeprazole surpressing my appetite? does a weak sphincter strengthen through medicine? is fatigue down to omeprazole? Thanks
