Does Phentermine Intake Result In An Increase In The Blood Pressure Levels?
My sister is currently taking BP medication (Lisinopril 2.5 mg) and her doctor recently prescribed her Phentermine to help with weight loss. She took the Phentermine at 1100 today and her BP right now is 193/111 ... her heart is racing and her head is pounding. Is this a normal reaction or should she go to the ER?
Hello, Phentermine is a psychostimulant and can typically cause palpitations and increased Blood Pressure. In her case, the patient should stop using phentermine as it can cause further problems in future if she keeps on taking it. The best method of weight loss is through diet control combined with a set exercise regimen. No magic pill for weight loss is not with out side effects and certainly phentermine is no exception. Thanks for asking question on HCM. I hope it helps.
