Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
recently I been having lots of gas loose stools blood in the stole. I do have hemorrhoids . the blood is bright red my stole was checked and found to be negative a couple of weeks ago. could this be from a medication I started taking recently named Pletal 100mg twice per day it is supposed to help my circulation in my legs ?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Pletal is having cilastazol. It is not having any side effects of bleeding or constipation. So your blood in stool is unlikely due to Pletal. Since it is bright red blood, possibility of hemorrhoids bleeding is more likely. So consult doctor and get done endoscopic examination of hemorrhoids. You may need need surgical removal of hemorrhoids. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
