Does Polygynax Cause Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?

I have a period that lasts for 2 weeks. I have a baby of six months. This is my 3th menstruation after delivery. For exactly one month ago, I was at a gynecologist and everything was fine, but because of vaginal infection gynecologist gave me polygynax that I used for a 6 days. Can this be the cause of the long period,or is it something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Polygynax is unlikely to cause this bleed.

It could be a hormonal imbalance, ovarian cyst and a one time occurrence. Please take a home pregnancy test, if sexually active.
Sometimes it may take a few months for your hormones to get back to pre-pregnancy levels.

If the bleeding has stopped and is normal in the next cycle, it's OK.
If it has recurs or bleeding is persistent, then see an obgyn right away to check for cause of bleed and treat anemia, if present

It is also necessary to consider a method of contraception to prevent a pregnancy till you are ready for your next. It is possible for you to conceive now.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health
