Does Susten Help To Conceive In A PCOD Patient?

I am 8 weeks preg and my doctor has asked me for susten through oral route and I a m getting all the side effects of this drug such as nausea headache and weight gain I have conceived normally so pls tell us there an important need to continue this tablet and for my friend she is unable to conceive from past two years due to pcod so can taking susten help her to conceive

Hi,

Susten is given to maintain pregnancy. So I think it's better not to stop it. Regarding the side effects, you can reduce the dose to 100mg per day by consulting your gynecologist once. Moreover, these side effects will go away once you get used to the tablet. So please continue Susten with reduction in dose. Coming to your friend, Susten can't help to conceive but it can only maintain pregnancy.

PCOS involves the treatment of weight reduction, and oral contraceptives for regularizing menses in women who don't want to conceive. If pregnancy is desired, the first line treatment is ovulation induction by drugs like Clomiphene Citrate. Letrozole can also be used to induce ovulation in PCOD.
