Does Valaciclovir Interact With Penicillin Shots?
I have hairy cell leukemia. I needed a tooth extraction and began taking penicillin vk to ward off any infections. At the same time I began showing symtoms of shingles. My doctor prescribed valacyclovir for the shingles but I postponed taking the shingles medicine because I didn t know what the mixture would do. Maybe now I am living to regret this because the shingles have really began to spread. Maybe I better begin my shingles medicine now. What do you think?

Hi,
You can safely start on valacyclovir. It will not interact with penicillin. Actually, delay in treatment may cause unwanted complications. You can take antacids like Omeprazole while you are multiple antibiotics to prevent gastritis.
