hello. i currently have shingles.3 days ago a small lession appeared somewhere at the back of my trunk, was diagnosed as shingles by my allergologist 2days ago and i have been on valaciclovir immediately.i have isolated myself from my kids 7,8, years old and a 10month old baby who have not chicken pox. when would it be safe for me to go home?
Hi thanks for asking question in HCM. The chicken pox is highly contagious that spread by coughing or sneezing. It is typically contagious 2 to 3 day before rash appear and it will remain contagious until lesions are crusted. So after lesion begin to crust , you can return to home.
