Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Warfarin Interfere With Gabapentin And Omeprazole?
I was placed on Warfarin about 4 weeks ago following a major fracture of the femur and subsequent hip replacement surgery. I was told that several small clots were seen in my lungs and that was the reason. I had already been taking fish oil caps 3x daily plus carvidilol and many other over the counter supplements. I was sure the list of my supplements was available before the surgery and I m wondering if none of those supplements were considered for possible interaction. I also take gabapentin 3x daily and omeprazole 1x.
Warfarin does have a moderate interaction with Omeprazole but it doesn't interact with Gabapentin. Also, Warfarin interacts with fish oil making its functions less efficient. This may be the reasons for your clots.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
