I have been taking xyzal for about 2 wks I had an allergic reaction with hives I went to my primary doctor today with 190/90 blood pressure after taking this med this morning@ 930 am I haven t been taking my own pressure until today . I I than took my regular med @10:am which is metoprolol 100 than had to take Xanax, an aspirin than dr. prescribed bp med of Norvasc which after taking these pressure was 154/67 @ 2pm b/p taken again @ 815pm bp 148/65. tonights med include claritan, metoprolol 25mg.hydroxizine. the I think the xyzol made my pressure raise that much it usually runs 140 /70 ish

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Xyzal is a anti-histamines that does not increase blood pressure, so probably this is not the cause, yes, your primary allergy ( any stress )or your anxiety , could have increased it. This BP is anyhow not alarmingly high, I would advise your should continue your BP medicine, and keep checking your BP, BP should not be dropped quickly, it should come slowly in few days. So do not worry , keep it checking , and keep in touch with your doc, he would adjust drugs to control your BP.
