Does A Head Injury Cause A Transient Ischemic Attack?
My husband fell in May of 2014 in a shopping center in a pothole and hit his head he had a concussion that day. Several months later he had a TIA. Could the fall have brought on the TIA? He was 73 at the time. He is a diabetic. Today he can t write an e-mail, speak or understand properly. People are saying this situation was brought on by the TIA not the fact he fell to the ground and hit his head very hard.
There could have been a clot or hemorrhage formed after the trivial trauma which is causing him transient ischemic attack. MRI or CT scan brain could pick up pathological condition behind. Several pathological markers of the brain can be tested to see if there is ongoing ischemia. Consult a neurosurgeon for further more details and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
