Does A Jammed Toe Need Medical Attention?

I either broke or jammed my little toe this morning ( seven hours ago). I ve been keeping it elevated and ice on for 20 min and off for 10. It hurts to walk and is swollen. Is there any reason to call my doctor tomorrow when the office opens? Or just continue to rest it? Can you suggest anything else that I need to do for it? Also, for how long do I have to keep up the routine of ice and rest? Thank you for your advice. Thank you, Helene YYYY@YYYY YYYY@YYYY

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is better to get done the x-ray of toe just rule out the fracture part till then it can be managed with analgesic medicines and best would be Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg three times in day, and it is better to keep the leg in elevated position, infection needs to be ruled out hope this information helps.
I find this answer helpful
