Does A Normal ECG,negative Stress Test And Normal Chest X-ray Mean No Evidence Of Cardiac Disease?
I went to ER with chest pain and severe belching. Doctor did ECG which was normal, ordered stress test, which was low risk for cardiac event. Negative stress test. Doctor had a 2 chest xrays and the report said No radiographic evidence of acute cardiopulmonary disease. Does this mean that all is clear as to my heart? I had endoscopy about 4 days after ER visit and it showed damage from acid reflux. I have taken Nexiumm for 3 months and am now off of it, but I still have daily, mild chest pain. I still have belching. I am taking probiotics and enzymes with every meal. I just want to make sure that my heart is okay. It seems to weigh on you mentally when you have chronic but mild pain.
Most probably you don't have any cardiac disease.Chest pain and severe belching may be due to reflux disease. You are taking right drugs.you should continue it. You also need few more investigations like routine heomgram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations can be done if needed. Ultrasound will rule out gall baldder calculus which may be the cause of chest pain and belching. Hope i have answered your query.
