Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, two days i had red dots on my penis, now they disappeared but glans start to be itchy ... is red now ... I m taking penicilline (amoxyclav) and I read this can be a side-effect of the antibiotics? what can i do to stop the itchyness, i cant move the foreskin anymore.
Yes, amoxyclav can cause allergic rash. As per the history you seem to have developed fungal infection of head of the penis and the foreskin. I advise you to use over the counter antifungal creams such as clotrimazole or miconazole over the affected area once daily for at least 7 to 10 days. Maintain good hygiene, wash the penis with warm running water and dry it carefully, and wear loose fitting cotton undergarments to keep the genital area dry and cool to stop the itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
