Does An I-Pill Cause Scanty Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi doctor I took ipill on 12 nov and after that I was expecting my periods on 24 nov . Periods was on time but it was much much lighter than usual. I bleed very heavy and it was much lighter than regular you can say it was just a spot. Is this because of ipill ? Or something else is developing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern.

I understand your concern about unplanned pregnancy. I-pill because of its progestin content can cause less bleeding/spotting. As menstruation is on time very rare chances of pregnancy. You can wait up to next menstrual cycle or else you can rule out pregnancy by pregnancy kit using morning first urine sample.
I hope this information will help you.

Regards
Dr. Hiren
