Does An Old Coccyx Injury Cause Painful Intercourse?
35 F. Broke coccyx badly 8 yrs ago. Had 54 hr labor which resulted in emergency C-section after pushing for a number of hours 2 yrs ago. Since then, sexual activity has been sparse. Now when I have vaginal sex I experience moderate to severe coccyx pain that lasts for days. Especially painful when penetrated from behind. Can this untreated coccyx injury still be an issue?
Of course, the coccygeus injury is an issue for pain during intercourse. I would recommend you to do an X-ray of coccygeus to see if it is dislocated.
If yes, a doctor should relocate it and the pain will improve. If it was broken and is rejoined in a bad position the pain is more likely to persist for the rest of your life.
Hope I have answered the question . Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
