Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an infection from a face lift I had. The left side of my face had a reaction to the stiches. I am on cephalexin 500MG twice a day for 10 days. I have white blisters in my mouth and lips. Is this being caused from the infection or the antibiotics? The doctor said that if my body continues to reject the stiches he would need to remove them and use a different material of the stiches.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the white blisters in mouth and lips can be due to allergic reaction or side effect of antibiotic Cephalexin that you are taking and it seems to be Canker Sores or Apthous Ulcers.. I would suggest you to start gargling with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine in case if you have pain.. You can gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia.. You can take Multivitamin supplements.. Gargle with warm saline solution.. Sucking ice and cold water rinses can help.. The ulcers will resolve once the intake of antibiotics will be stopped..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
