Does Antibiotics Have An Effect On Contraceptive Pill?

Hello. I have been on birth control for over a year now and have had sex without a back up contraceptive in the last 24 hours. Three days ago I finished a set of antibiotics perscribed by my doctor, but I didn t realize the effects the antibiotic could have on my birth control pills. He did not ejaculate, but I am wondering if I need to take an emergency contraceptive today to avoid pregnancy.

I really appreciate your concern, if you are on antibiotic and taking oral contraceptive medicine too so antibiotic may not cause any effect on the efficacy of oral contraceptive medicine but one would get the same effect of oral contraceptive medicine as getting while taking only this, hope this information helps, take care have a nice day.
