Does Bee Sting Cause Sore Throat And Malaise?

I was stung in the left temple by a honey been yesterday. Immediately following the sting severe pain radiated down my face, jawline, and into my neck. My Left eye and cheek was number for at least 30 minutes. I did not use my Epi. I ve never been allergic to bee, wasp, or hornets and have been stung by all. I have now procured a sore throat, acute onset, and a general feeling of malaise. It has been 3 hours short of 24 hours now. Could these symptoms be a result of the sting?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are probably related to the bee sting. I suggest to do a steroid injection to relieve the inflammation and symptoms. I also suggest using antihistamines such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily for a week. If you have breathing difficulties, I suggest to go at the emergency room.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
