Does Breast Cancer Cause Painful Swollen Lymph Nodes Under The Armpit?

My mother has had breast cancer. Removed left breast. Had a lumpectomy last year. All successful. she is now complaining of acute pain and swollen lymph nodes under the armpit. Does cancer cause pain? Could it be something else.? She has just had hip surgery , two weeks ago. what do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having secondary spread in axillary lymph nodes giving this problem.
Consult her treating surgeon and get examined and investigated.
Ok and take care.
