Does Burnt Stew Cause Stomach Cramps And Diarrhea?
My self and my husband had some stew last night that had started to burn to the bottom of the pot we changed the pot and still ate some but not much as it tasted fowl. We have now both had really bad D&V and stomach cramps/ heartburn ect:- Would that be the cause????
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Burnt stew can have some chemical transformation that can cause the stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loose stool due to intolerance, gastritis and acidity related problems. Since you and your husband both have got the similar symptoms the cause is very obvious as both have taken the burnt stew. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult your Doctors for clinical evaluation, examination for any untoward reactions, vitals, hydration and watch for the investigations needed so that any treatment can be given as needed as per the findings on symptomatic basis. Take plenty of oral fluids. Let the stools pass or may even need a cathertic to remove the stew. Electrolyte solution if needed to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.
