Does Changing From Paxil To Wellbutrin Has Any Side Effects?

My doctor recently change my prescription from 40 mg of paxil to 150mg wellbutrin. Isn't that a big jump?
He decided on switching since I also want to quit smoking and lose some weight and he said wellbutrin has some of those effects.
Im going thru withdrawals...though I weaned myself but taking half the paxil for 5 days, nothing for two days, and started the wellbutrin yesterday. I feel these "wooshing" in my head...only way I can describe it, plus hot flashes. I was going to call my dr tomorrow. Any advice you can give me now? I do not like this feeling. Thank you!

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
I were to suggest you to take Wellbutrin (bupropion) since it has additional beneficial compared to Paxil(Paroxetine).Headache, dizziness, tremors (shaking) are less common side effects of Wellbutrin and however subside with adequate dose tirtration.I suggest you to discuss with your doctor and I am sure that you will feel good.Hope this helps.
