Does Chicken Pox Cause Delayed Periods?

Helo doctor, I had last menses on 29 February and in between i had chicken pox and i took medication for 5 days however before chicken pox .. I had unprotected intercourse with my husband bt not discharged inside. We never used protection and till now i have not got menses.I want to know that menses get delay because of chicken pox?

Hi, periods can get delayed due to any stressful conditions. So, chicken pox can be the reason. As you told you had a unprotected intercourse, better to get a urine pregnancy test done at home to rule out pregnancy. If negative, you can take some medicines like progesterone for inducing periods.
