Does Dental Retainer Cause Fluid In The Ear With Tinnitus?

I've had pressure and fluid in my left ear for at least 8 months now, I've tried anti histamines and nasonex and nothings working. I can't seem to pop it at all I feel the pressure 24/7 and its caused minor hearing loss and tinnitus. I was wondering what else there is I could do and what is causing the problem? I think it should be noted that I had to wear braces and a dental retainer for quite awhile to expand my jaw, is it possible that this is what messed up my ear?
