The rotten egg burp can be indirectly causing this as there can be overgrowth of the bacteria that cause and produce the gases that sell like the rotten eggs, hence the burp. I would advise you the following: Get the stool tested. CT scan of the abdomen to see the present status of diverticulitis. Proper antibiotic and metronidazole coverage for 5 days. PPI like Omeprazole. Domperidone for motility control. Probiotics, activated charcoal tablets. Symptomatic and supportive treatment. Surgery for diverticulitis if advised by your Surgeon.
