Does Elevated SGPT Levels In Blood Cause Fever And Loss Of Appetite In Children?

sir my daughter is 6 years old and is ill from 20 continous days .she frequently shows fever .weakness .She doesnt eat anything so i doubted and checked her sgpt which came up as 41.
please suggest me what should i do.
Is her fever and no hunger is due to increased sgpt.

Hi...fever and lack of appetite is not due to raised SGPT. Actually it is the other way round. But level of 41 is not alarming. Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
