Does Epilepsy Medication Cause Slurred Speech And Anxiety?
My mother is 72 and has recently had a collapse was admitted to hospital and was advised that she has developed epilepsy. her BP is 138/68 pulse 47, 114/70 pulse 48, 165/78 pulse 45 and at one point was 110/45 in hospital. She is currently experiencing a bipolar episode and I am concerned that she may have suffered a stroke... she has also had 2 surgeries since the beginning of the year one for an obstruction in her bowel (growth) and the second for a hernia. I am worried, the epilepsy medication is making her speech slurred and she is very anxious, should I be getting a 2nd opinion?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern for your mother and from the history given here I could say that the slurred speech of your mother may not be due to the medicine that she is taking for epilepsy but could be because of the medical conditions that she is having, in my opinion proper diagnosis and treatment would give nice result, take care and have a nice day.
