Hi, My name is Shyan and i m 18. I stopped having a period when i was in my sophomore year of highschool. I thought it was because Im overweight. Last night I started my period after all this time, but its seemingly only lasting a day and i was wondering if it could be because ive lost a little bit of weight

Thanks you for asking this question. I have undergone through your question. I understand your concern. Excess body weight & irregular periods point towards hormonal imbalance. These are symptoms of a disorder. It might be hypothyroidism or Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) which needs to be confirmed by investigations
Advise
1. Consult an endocrine specialist in your local area
2. Investigation suggested - T4, TSH, blood estrogen/progesterone, LH, FSH, blood sugar, USG abdomen, blood hemoglobin
Treatment will be suggested as per result
