Does Food Poisoning Worsen Mitral Valve Prolapse?

Does food poisoning make mitral valve prolapse worse? I hardly ever had the skipping and fluttering feelings until after a bout of food poisoning. Now I have them regularly. The food poisoning happened about a month and a half ago. Please help! This is driving me crazy!

Hi welcome to HCM,
food poisoning has absolutely no link with worsening of mitral valve prolapse.this valvular disorder has an intrinsic tendency to worsen after a certain period of time.
drugs like diuretics can prevent symptoms associated with excessive prolapse and subsequent regurgitation of blood into lungs.definitive treatment includes surgical repair.consult your cardiologist for further queries.
thank you
