Does Gastroscopy Cause Sore Jaw?

I ah a gastroscopy and colonoscopy yesterday and today my jaw feels very sore. I spoke to the Day Surgery where they performed the procedures sand they said to take some Panadol and that this was just because they have something in your mouth to stop you biting on the scope and they need to open your jaw wider than normal. They also said it should disappear in a few days. Is this correct?
