Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Haematuria Cause Blurred Vision And Elevated Blood Sugar Levels?
I have had prostate cancer more than 5 years ago, kidney stones in the past year and am now having gross hematuria for 3 weeks, some clots and back pain. I was referred to an urologist. I am also experiencing high blood sugar in the 200s and blurry vision, could this be caused from the gross hematuria?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Hematuria is mainly due to damage to tissues such as mucosa lining the genitourinary tract due to the presence of renal stones or bleeding due to cancers such as prostate or urinary bladder. It doesn't have direct link with blurring of vision or raise in blood sugar. Kindly consult Physician for evaluation of your blood sugar and eyes. Accordingly, treatment could be given.
Hope the information provided helps. All the best.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran. S.
