Does Hashimotos Disease Shoe Up On Chromosomal Test?
I have hasimotos disease and am currently pregnant. Does hashimotos disease show up on chromosomal tests? I am currently awaiting results from my cvs results which is showing an extra marker chromosome which they are trying to identify. My husband and I have had bloodwork taken to compare. The baby does not have downs or trisomy 18.

Hi, Thanks for asking. I can comment as follows: 1. Hashimotos thyroiditis does not show up on chromosomal tests. 2. There is no inheritance pattern as it is neither x-linked or autosomal linked. 3. Female sex have a higher incidence, otherwise multiple mutations have been identified, but none accurate enough to say, the baby will develop Hashimotos thyroiditis.
Good to know that baby does not have other important chromosomal disorders.
Based on present knowledge, I can assure you that the development of Hashimotos thyroiditis in future is too complex and there is high chance he wont develop, if he is a male.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
