Does Heart Problem Cause Pulsating Pain In Front Area Of The Neck?

I have a mild to sharp pulsating pain in the left front area of my neck, which has been on an off since this morning (in the same location where I would would take my pulse). I don t have any other symptoms, other than loss of appetite this morning. Does this mean I am having some kind of heart issue? What could be the cause? I took a couple of Bayer aspirin...is this OK?

Usually heart pain is dull aching, not sharp, non pulsating and unlikely to be limited to small area in the neck.
Heart typically occurs in exertion and broad area on left chest can go up to jaw, back and left arm. Your pain is less likely to be cardiac.
