Does High Protein In Urine Lead To Negative UPT?

hi, my girlfriend has done 4 pregnancy tests and they came back positive. She went to the doctors today after last week where she provided a urine sample and they said she wasn t pregnant. This was due to high levels of protein in her urine. Is there some explanation for this. i really dont understand? Please help

Pregnancy tests you buy yourself outside of the doctors' office can vary in quality, depending on the country where you live. In the US, Canada and Europe, the are pretty reliable, but outside, you do not know the quality of the product you buy. Also, some products are hard to interpret and may be confusing to read.

The safest way to confirm pregnancy is to do a blood test. If they did a blood test at the doctors' office that is the most accurate way. There are some medical conditions that can cause a false-positive urine test, though that explanation from the doctor may be a little simplistic.
