Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have high uric acid levels but have not had a gout flare in two years due to weight loss and change in diet. In the last six months I have been having severe constipation with impacted stools? Could the high uric acid and impacted stools be related? Could I have some form of kidney disease?
Hi, thanks for the question. Constipation with impacted stool doesn't have correlation to high level of uric acid. High level of uric acid can cause urinary tract stone in many cases.
You should change your diet and drink enough water (2.5L daily). You have to avoid seafood, salted fish, and etc.
May this answer helps you. Regards.
