General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely you are having constipation. This can cause difficulty with the bowel movement and sometimes pain and bleeding.
You will need to take some medications to help with it like lactulose syrup and if not effective bisacodyl is very good but should not be used very often. Make sure you eat healthy and add fiber supplements in your diet and drink plenty as well.

If you notice no improvement you will need to see your doctor. All patients over 50 years of age need a colonoscopy as a routine check and especially if they have bowel problems.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
