Does Hot And Cold Sensations Indicate The Regeneration Of Nerves?

My husband injured his calf muscle with circular saw while on the job. He received internal stitches to repair the muscle and 18 external stiches...he s been on Keflex all this time and Vicodin. The area is a bit red, but not infected. He is having extreme hot and cold sensations and tingling on his foot and toes. Does this mean his nerves are regenerating?

Hi,

Yes, that's possible due to wallerian regeneration of nerves. Young nerve are quite sensitive to touch, hence could cause tingling sensation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
