Does Hyperthyroidism Cause An Increase In Dental Cavities?
Can hyperparathyroidism cause an increase in dental cavities. My calcium level has been between 10.5 and 11.0 for the last 6 years and the parathyroid level is 83. I always had great teeth, hardly any cavities, but now since these two elevations, it seems my teeth are disintegrating.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Thanks for asking the question.
Hyperparathyroidism will drain the calcium from bones and teeth to your blood. That is the cause for increased calcium in blood. As a result of that there can be cavities in teeth.
