does taking sleep aid (diphenhydramine) affect the growth or hinder the growth of muscle. because im 14 years old and im serious with bodybuilding and i have severe insomnia...melatonin doesnt work for me. so does other sleep aids affect this muscle growing process in any negative way?
Hello.First of all it I would like to advice you to start gyimg after 18 yrs of age.For males the height increases uptill 21 yrs of there age and for females it is 18.Body building has seesions to work on.One is Cardio and the other one is weight lifting.If you have reached your desired height then only I Would recommed you to continue with weight lifting sicne you are serious with bodybuilding.Well Sleep Aid does not have an effect on muscle growth.But definitely sleep does.Good sleep and rest is a part of bodybuilding.Muscle growth is only seen when the body rests and sleeps.So having a good sleep is necessary.Coming to the main point sleep aids does not affect the muscle growth but a person becomes addicted to it and you would be needing more dosage to get the desired effect as the tolerance increases.Sleep aids are only useful for short term and one cannot depend on them for a longer period of time.Insomnia can be cured without medications. 1)20mins walk at night 2)Taking a bath with warm water before going to bed 3)Avoid beverages containing caffeine. 4)Listening to some light music before you are off to sleep helps you to get a good and peaceful sleep I hope this helps you in long term and wish you luck for your bodybuilding.
