hai mam...i have pcod and missed period...i want to correct my ovulation...what i do..??? shall i use Tab .METAPHAGE 500(metformin hydrocholride tab) in twice daily.....after using any problm occur....any chance to diabetic ?????how many days shall i use??

Hi,

Yes, the reason for the PCOD is Insulin resistance endocrinopathy. So, metformin has the best role in treating PCOD. Using metformin for prevention Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and endometrial cancer. You can continue up to the first trimester. Regarding dose, it depends upon the patient and conditions, minimum 500mg. Again duration depends patient and conditions your doctor will decide.
