Does Intake Of Antibiotics Along With Tenex And Prilosec Cause Hives And Rashes?
My son is taking is taking Tenex 1mg at bedtime and Prilosec 20mg as his daily medications. He was screen for H. Pyloric last week which came back positive and was prescribed 2 antibiotics Amoxicillin 500mg and Clarithromycin 500mg twice a day. After 7 days of using both antibiotics; my son developed a severe rash of hives on his arms, back, and groin area. I discontinue after taking him to the doctor and the rash and hives disappear. I started him on Amoxicillin and now he has develop a small rash. Is my son other medications interacting with these 2 antibiotics prescribed be causing my son to develop hives and a rash? Thank you.
dear friend if your son has been tating the two medications for long and not developed rashes they are not the likely caues the most likely culprit is amoxicillin any way his course of treatment of amoxicillin is over so stoping it will solve the issue if not there are alternative medication available for H pylori infection let your treating physician know of the reaction i am sure they will reconsider and prescribe some alternative
