Does Intake Of Contraceptive Pill Cause Heavy Periods?
Hi, I took a morning after pill two month ago, the first month my period was a bit heavier than and it lasted longer than usual. The second month my period came on time but was also heavier and I m experiencing spotting for more than a week now. This had never happened before, my period was normal. I m concerned if this is due to the pill or something else.
Hi , Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here
It is common to experience changes to ur menstrual cycle after taking the morning after pill Your next period may be lot heavier or lighter than it normally is ( in your case heavier ) , It may also arrive late or early. This is a common side effect caused by the relatively high dose of the hormone progesterone, the active substance in the morning after pill
However These side effects are temporary and they ought to pass quickly there should not be a serious concern but still you should consult with your gynecologist to get it further evaluated
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
