Does Marijuana And Champagne Cause Paralysis Like Reaction On The Body?

my friend and I had edible marijuana for the first time. she is 32 and has never done even regular marijuana. we had a chocolate , maybe half of a block or even less. we had 2 glasses of champagne also. at some point a few hours later she was fine and said im not high or not feeling anything and suddenly we ate and she had some hot sauce on her food that was extremely overwhelming and after that she doesn t remember anything. before the pot and champagne it was hours that we had eaten anything. when she passed out. she fell back on the bed. it was scary. I screamed and thought she was dead. her eyes were closed but I could see it a bit and had a tear coming out of one eye a little. her face was white and maybe even purple. I tried to wake her but she seemed dead. I called 911 and after a few minutes I brought her up to sit and she opened her eyes, started shaking bad and face white like ghost with big eyes looking at me and couldn t recognize me. her left hand was coming up like paralyzed and she was pushing me off with another hand not knowing who I was until she realized its me. we went to ER but nurses said it was reaction but no doctor saw us and I was so afraid something bad happened or she had a seizure or why she went paralyzed on her left hand. I cant get the scene out of my mind. it didn t seem like passing out. she couldn t talk. i thought for sure she was paralyzed. maybe im wrong. I wanted to know what it was, should she get tests and also did this incident effect her brain or body? I noticed also recently when we sleep her hand closes and opens and her leg twitches only at beginning of falling asleep. I hope all of this is normal.

Hello,

The following are side effects of edible Marijuana:
Effects of short-term use
1) Impaired short-term memory, making it difficult to learn and to retain information
2) Impaired motor coordination, interfering with driving skills and increasing the risk of injuries. muscle twitches are seen
3) Altered judgment
4) In high doses, paranoia and psychosis
Effects of long-term or heavy use
5) Addiction
6) Altered brain development
7) Cognitive impairment
8) Symptoms of chronic bronchitis
9) Drowsiness and dry mouth

So your friend had symptoms of overdose of marijuana or hypersensitivity to marijuana. As you already had gone to ER, symptomatic treatment will be done. If you still have a doubt, she can have a MRI brain scan to rule out other organic pathology. Please do consult a physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
