Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes I have had this cough for about 3 weeks now went to the ER they did a chest x-ray a CT scan and also a ekg , and labs everything came back normal and they stated that I have bronchitis. Gave me a albuterol inhailer and also a Medrol Dose pack. Does the medrol dose pack get rid of the wet cough?
The medrol dose pack contains steroids and would help to reduce the inflammation in the lungs due to the infection.
In addition to the medication you are currently using, you may want to consider the use of a mucolytic to break up the mucus in the chest. These are usually available over the counter. Examples are mucomyst, bisolvan, robitussin
I hope this helps
