Does My Father Need An Operation For Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
my father is a patient of obstructive sleep apnea and I'm very frightened of this. not only that he was admitted in cmc vellor. he was operationed there. after that operation he was cured. But after 6-7 years it started with same symptoms, he is a bulky person. so, i'm frightened, what to do? is he requires any operation? plz, tell me.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Not all obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients require surgery. Only those who fail non surgical measures require surgery. Non surgical measures include weight reduction, strict dieting, exercise etc. If he looses weight then surgery can be avoided. If he fails to loose weight then surgery is the only option. So motivate his for weight reduction. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your father. Thanks.
