Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had oral sex with a sex worker recently, had it with condom. while doing so she wiped off the saliva which was at the base of my penis and on my body with a small warm towel. After that she used the same towel to wipe off the tip of my penis. my question is, the towel with saliva on it would cause hiv? as it directly touched the tip of my penis. I am really worried about it. kindly help me!
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I would like to tell you that HIV virus thrives very well in body fluids and blood constituents. But luckily there is very less amount of virus present in saliva to get transmitted to another person. But still there are chances and thus I would suggest that you should visit a physician and take a blood test of ELISA?Western Blot 6 months apart to be quite sure.
I would also like to further advise you that you should not indulge in such a risk taking activities as HIV is a very serious disease to have and when you are having sex with sex workers, there are also chances of attracting other STDs. So better be vigilant in future, use condoms and avoid having mishaps like these from happening.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
