Does Nose Bleed Post Flu And Cold Need Medical Attention?

Hi. I had flu which almost lasted 10 days. I only had runny nose so i was taking nasal spray to aid my breathing difficulty. However, in the last few days i had started to have a headache and ache on the right side of my face. Then i took a Vicks steam. After a couple of hours my nose stopped producing running mocus but instead blood was coming. The headache went away. Now it has been two days and instead of mocus, blood has been flowing down from my nose. It s not fresh blood but at times it is. I have to blow it out every now and then. Is it serious? Should I see a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that due to congestion in nasal cavity due to allergic rhinitis might produce bleeding or crust.
Do not blow your nose as it might give more bleeding due to disturbing crust.
Apply antibiotic cream in the nasal cavity.
If require put some decongestant nasal drops like Otrivin nasal drops.
After soreness will be healed up, you will be fine.
Ok and take care.
