Does Oral Steroid Help In Treating Acute Inflammation Of Throat?

Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with LPR. I have tried taking the recommended medication, a proton pump inhibitor and a acid reducer. I cannot tolerate the side effects. I am continuing to take the pepcid Ac at night, but discontinued the morning proton pump inhibitor. My throat is acutely raw. I am having difficulty swallowing and continue to have burning. I have been drinking 1tbls of aloe vera juice 3times a day for 8 days. I am continuing to have chronic coyghing and burning. What could I possibly do to soothe this awful inflammation. I cannot take any inflammatory meds. I am allergic to NSAIDS. Would you recommend an oral steroid for this acute inflammation? I am desperate for some relief!
