Does Past MRSA Infection Cause Complication In Hip Replacement Surgery?

I am going to have a hip replaced real soon and part of the check list is MRSA. I had this years ago but I am under the understanding that the antibiotics got rid of it. They are going to test for MRSA tomorrow. If I still carry this will they still do the surgery? I haven t had any symptoms of it.

Hello
It's unlikely you still have MRSA unless you are carrying it in your nose which I assume is part of the testing you're having. If by chance you are a nasal carrier, it can be eradicated with Bactroban antibiotic cream
